Anonymous chat with strangers, text only: write without turning on a camera
Sometimes you just want to type — no camera, no microphone, no "hi, can you hear me". Text chat on Veilr connects you to a random person in a couple of seconds: write first or wait for their opening line, and if it is not working, press Next.
There is nothing to fill in: sign in with an account you already have and you are in the room. No questionnaire about your height and star sign — the only things you set are the ones that actually change the match: the other person’s gender, age and country.
Languages are not in the way either. A message arrives already translated into your language, and the original opens with one tap, so you can always see what the person really wrote.

Translated conversation
Messages arrive in your language and the original is one tap away. Translation is paid for by the person who READS it — so, for everything you read, by you. Every new chat starts with its own free allowance, and the rewards you earn extend it; once both are spent, the current conversation is still translated to the end, while the next ones start untranslated for a day. Boost lifts that limit on everything you read.
You decide who you are looking for
Gender is a preference: ask for women and we try that first whenever a woman is online in this mode; if nobody is, you are connected to someone else rather than left waiting. The other person’s choice is always respected, people who picked non-binary are matched by those who chose ‘Any’, and with Boost your choice is a hard filter. Age and country are a soft priority: an exact match first, then a wider search so you are not left waiting.
Matching on shared interests
Tick a couple of interests and we try to find someone who cares about the same things. Tick none and we simply find the next available person.
Not in a permanent database
A random chat’s text is not written to our permanent database — the server only passes messages on. A short buffer of the session’s last 50 messages expires by itself within 15 minutes of the chat ending, so a report about that chat is not empty. The one exception is a mutual Connect: press it both and the chat turns into an ordinary conversation in your contacts.
Reporting takes one tap
Every conversation has a report button with a reason to pick. Violations cost the account restrictions, up to a ban.
Voice and video are right next door
Same account, same contacts: you can move from typing to a voice or video conversation whenever you are ready.

It feels like it: you write to a stranger and press Next when it is not working. Omegle closed in November 2023; here the format is the same, except messages arrive already translated, the conversation does not go into a permanent database, and signing in keeps bots and throwaway visits out.
