Veilr is a free chat with random people from around the world — video, voice or text. Messages arrive in your language, and speech on a call can be read as captions. You stay anonymous, and Veilr is for adults only, 18+.

Where Veilr works
In the browser, on a computer and on a phone — nothing to install.
There is an Android app on Google Play. On an iPhone and on a computer Veilr works in the browser.
The interface is translated into sixteen languages, and captions on a call cover 34 languages.
What is free and what costs money
Finding someone and talking is free, in every format: video, voice and text.
Paid extras are optional. Boost, for example, puts you first in the queue. Payments are one-off — there is no subscription and nothing renews by itself.
Safety and moderation
Veilr is for adults: 18+.
The search does not start until you sign in with an account you already have, such as Google.
Any conversation can be reported in one tap. A report about a video call attaches a single still frame of that moment; it is checked and then discarded — we keep the verdict, not the picture.
Automatic action is always limited in time. A permanent ban is decided by a person, not by an algorithm alone.
One of the partners is not a person: our own AI chat partner. Where that feature is switched on, a text search that finds no human within a short wait may be answered by it instead: it holds no account and is not another user. A voice or video session is always with a person. The Terms of Service describe this in §6.6.
Privacy, in short
The person opposite does not see your real name or your e-mail — you decide what to tell them.
Messages from a random chat are not written into our permanent database: they are relayed live and soon gone. They stay as history only if both of you pressed «Add to contacts».
