Account deletion
You can delete your Veilr account at any time. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone: there is no grace period and no way to restore the account or its data afterwards.
How to delete your account
- In the app: Settings → tap your name or avatar → Profile → “Delete account”, then type DELETE to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, username, photo, gender, date of birth and language settings.
- All your contacts, your private-chat history and the photos you sent in those chats.
- Boost passes, subtitle minutes, streak and referral progress.
- All sessions and push tokens — you are signed out on every device.
What remains, and why
- Messages from anonymous chats never reach our permanent database: after a chat only a short technical buffer with the last messages survives, so that a report about that chat is not empty, and it expires by itself within 15 minutes. Account deletion has nothing to remove there.
- Moderation records (reports, decisions and the ban itself) are kept together with the email address the account was linked to — otherwise a ban could be shaken off by simply signing up again, and everyone else would lose that protection.
- Material preserved as evidence of illegal content — above all child sexual abuse material — is kept with its case record for up to 12 months, because the law requires preservation regardless of a deletion request.
- Payment receipts stay with the payment provider (Google Play or our payment processor) for as long as tax law requires. We never store your card details.
Timing
Deletion from the app is immediate: the account and everything linked to it are removed in a single database transaction, your files are purged from storage and your sessions are invalidated. A request sent by email is handled within 30 days.
