Chatki alternative: its "no registration" stops at the Girls section
Chatki works the way Omegle used to. You press Start, allow the camera, and a random stranger appears, with no account, no card and nothing to install. On top of that it gives away a country filter that covers a claimed 190+ countries, and its FAQ says the service is "100% free for basic features and will always remain that way". The word to notice is "basic". The Girls section is not part of the no-account deal. Veilr asks everyone to sign in at the start and then lets anyone choose who they'd like to meet, with no separate section. The video window above runs on Veilr.
What Chatki does well
It asks for nothing before the first chat. That's exactly what people loved about Omegle, and Chatki keeps it.
The country filter is free. Chatrandom, which belongs to the same company, puts comparable filtering into a subscription at $19.99 a month. Chatki makes the free version its main argument, and fairly so.
It has lasted. The chatki.com domain was registered on 3 October 2014 and is paid up until 2034, and the service runs on the same operator's setup as Chatrandom rather than on a one-off landing page.
There's a text mode for when you'd rather keep the camera off, a report button inside the chat, and bans for people who break the rules. The privacy policy is also unusually specific about what gets captured during moderation, which is more than most sites in this category offer.
It even published research: a survey of 250,000 users, run from January to August 2017, on how video chat affected the confidence of people aged 18 to 25.
The account you were told you wouldn't need
To get into Girls, Chatki's own FAQ sends you through what it presents as an age check. In practice that's an email address, a username and a password, which is to say an account. The privacy policy goes further, mentioning sign-in through Google or Apple and optional links to your Instagram, Snapchat and OnlyFans handles. So full profiles are part of the system. The no-registration promise covers the random queue and not much else.
Why people bother with that section is spelled out in reviews: most of the people on the other end are men, and outside Girls finding a woman is hard. Those reviews come mostly from affiliate and SEO sites, since chatki.com has no Trustpilot page and no app store reviews, so treat them as a pattern rather than proof.
What the small print adds
Money. Chatki's terms describe tokens you buy or get through promotions, virtual gifts, and premium subscriptions paid for in tokens, all final and non-refundable unless the law says otherwise. The same wording sits in Chatrandom's terms, so it may simply be the operator's template. The site has no price page, its sitemap lists five addresses, and nothing shows that a paid tier is actually switched on at chatki.com. We're telling you what the terms say, not what you'll be charged.
Recording. The privacy policy says the service takes limited screenshots or short video clips from random chat sessions, for moderation and to fight fraud. Chatki deserves credit for writing that down. It still matters on a site sold as anonymous.
Disputes, if you're in the US. Disagreements go to binding arbitration under Wyoming law, and by using the site you give up class actions and jury trials. Residents of the EEA, Switzerland and the UK are carved out of that clause. Everyone else is bound by it, Americans included, which is worth knowing before you pay for anything a site like this sells.
Bans. According to the FAQ, a first ban is usually temporary and you get it lifted by writing to the admins, which can take several days.
Numbers that don't agree with each other
The About page talks about more than 5,000 people online at any moment. Chatki's study page mentions hundreds of thousands of users a week. Affiliate reviews go up to 10 and even 20 million. Ahrefs' public estimate is about 140,000 organic visits a month, roughly half of its search traffic, 50.1%, coming from India.
The About page also says Chatki recently arrived on Android and iOS. Search Google Play for "chatki" and you get Chatrandom, Chatspin and OmeTV, but no Chatki, and there's no App Store listing either. What you will find on APKPure is "Chatki - Random Video Chat", package com.arfree.chatki, which isn't published by Chatki's operator. Installing an app the operator never released is a risk worth knowing about.
How Veilr handles the same things
The account comes first, and there's only one. Veilr doesn't let you in as a guest and then ask for details halfway. You sign in at the door with an account you already have, and the sign-in screen lists which kinds work. Right after that you answer four questions, once: name, gender, date of birth and native language. No second account unlocks a special section later. Anyone whose recorded age is under 18 is turned away from matching.
No Girls section, because choosing is part of the ordinary chat. Your own gender is already on your profile, so picking women or men to meet costs you nothing. If anyone who fits is on video, the search tries them first; if not, it pairs you with someone else rather than keep you hanging. Your partner's own preference is never overridden. Boost makes your pick a strict filter and lets you skip ahead in the queue.
Country, where Chatki is ahead. On a free Veilr account country is a wish, the same as age: tried first, relaxed when nobody fits, strict only with Boost. Chatki hands you a real country filter for nothing. Veilr doesn't, not without Boost.
If they don't speak English. Veilr runs one worldwide queue per mode, so your match could be anywhere and may not share your first language. You write in English, they can read it in theirs, and the original stays a tap away. Free accounts begin with a batch of translations and earn more; Boost takes the ceiling off. When the two of you declared different native languages, a call can bring up captions without you asking: 34 languages, five free minutes for a new account, then Boost, a top-up or a reward. The app itself is translated into 16 languages, Hindi included.
Screenshots and clips. Veilr never saves recordings of video or voice chats. A report is what allows one still frame to be captured, and it can go to our safety team for review.
No tokens. Chatki's terms describe tokens, gifts and token-paid subscriptions. On Veilr, being matched and talking are free in every mode. You can buy Boost or extra caption minutes, each as a one-off with its price shown in the app. Gifts here are ten reactions, all of them free, rather than a currency.
Bans with an end date. Chatki's first ban is usually temporary and lifted by writing to its admins. On Veilr no automatic penalty runs past 30 days, and the notice says whether software or a person made the call. Appeals go by email, to the address on our About page.
The app question. Veilr has its own Android app on Google Play, so there's no need for an APK from a mirror site. There's no App Store version; on an iPhone you use the browser.
Chatki and Veilr, side by side
| Chatki | Veilr | |
|---|---|---|
| First chat | Press Start, no account | A sign-in, then four questions once |
| Country | Free filter, 190+ countries claimed | Free preference that widens; strict with Boost |
| Choosing women or men | The Girls section, behind an email-and-password account | A free preference for everyone; strict with Boost |
| Captured for moderation | Limited screenshots or short video clips | No recordings; one still frame if a chat is reported |
| Paid items in the terms | Tokens, gifts and subscriptions, non-refundable | Boost and caption minutes, one-off; as a rule, a started Boost isn't refunded |
| Phone app | Claimed, but none from the operator in the stores | Our own Android app on Google Play; browser on iPhone |
Chatki wins the first two rows outright. No account and a free country filter are real advantages, and if those are the two things you care about, Chatki is the better fit.
Getting started on Veilr
- 1. Sign in with an existing account and answer the profile questions.
- 2. Pick who you'd like to meet in the video window above and press Start video chat. To keep in touch with someone, tap Add to contacts during the call. That's a request, not a connection: nothing is kept unless they tap it as well.
Veilr is not offered in the UK at all.

What people ask about Chatki

Is there a Chatki app?
Its About page says so, but there's no Chatki app in Google Play or the App Store. The APK called "Chatki - Random Video Chat" on APKPure doesn't come from the operator.
Is Chatki the same as Chatrandom?
Same owner. Both sets of terms name Small World Media LLC at 30 N Gould St Ste 11594, Sheridan, Wyoming, an address thousands of companies are registered at. Camgo's terms name the same company.
Does Chatki record video chats?
Its privacy policy says it takes limited screenshots or short video clips from random chat sessions for moderation and fraud checks.
